African swine fever case confirmed in Obleshevo
Shtip, 12 August 2022 (MIA) – A case of African swine fever has been confirmed at a makeshift enclosure, i.e., a pigsty in the village of Obleshevo in the Municipality of Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, the head of the Health Protection Sector at the Food and Veterinary Agency, Vanja Kondratenko told MIA on Friday.
At the moment FVA teams are on the ground drawing up a census of the pigs in a radius of three kilometres, which will have to be disposed of in a specialized pit, followed by a census of the pigs in a radius of 10 kilometers, which will be taken to a slaughterhouse.
Within half a month a total of six hotspots of African swine fever have been identified in the regions of Makedonska Kamenica, Kochani, Vinica and Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, and since the beginning of the outbreak there have been a total of seven hotspots in the village of Dramche in Delchevo. ad/sk/
