20th OFFest takes place in Skopje
Skopje, 9 November 2021 (MIA) – OFFest, a world music festival organized annually in Skopje, begins Tuesday and its jubilee, 20th edition will run through Saturday. This year’s OFFest will commemorate the body of work of Portuguese fado singer Amália Rodrigues, considered the "Queen of Fado", with a performance by Lina_Raül Refree, a duo of musicians playing modern fado. The opening night will also feature a screening of the documentary "The Art of Amália", says the organizer “Skopje Jazz Festival”. The festival, which takes place at Skopje’s Macedonian Opera and Ballet, also includes concerts by Slovenian instrumental trio Širom and Kiko Dinucci, a Brazilian musician and composer from São Paulo (November 11). On Saturday, the festival will close with concerts by Blick Bassy, Cameroon-born, Paris-based guitarist and vocalist, and Pijan Slavej, the latest project by Foltin’s lead singer Branislav Nikolov.
