Zajkova says she sees LDP as major factor without which no government could be formed in future
Skopje, 20 November 2022 (MIA) – I express readiness for my biggest personal challenge so far. I promise you future-oriented leadership. I see the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) as a serious party with great influence on the decisions, direction and strategy by which the state will be run, as a major factor without which no government could be formed in the future, as a partner of the citizens and a constructive corrective to the government, candidate for LDP leader Monika Zajkova said Sunday.
Addressing the official part of the eighth party congress, which was open to the public, Zajkova said progressive policies that have been conducted in the past period will not stop.
She pledged she would do her best to lead the party effectively.
“To me this honor means double responsibility. I promise leadership focused on the future, because I see LDP as a party that builds policies in the present for a better future, policies that will make the country a better place to live in, also for future generations. We have a responsibility to take action now and today,” Zajkova pointed out.
Zajkova is expected to receive support at the congress. Before Zajkova, Goran Milevski was LDP leader. In his address to the congress, he openly supported Zajkova, wishing her success, especially on the upcoming path to the country's membership in the EU.
Ahead of the party’s congress on Sunday, the Regional Liberal Conference “QVO VADIS EVROPA 2022?” – Fostering EU Enlargement and Integration was held. Participants in the conference sent a message that the country has no alternative but EU membership, and that this path requires a lot of work, but also brings great benefits.
