Zaev: New Year to be seen as new chapter of our togetherness
Skopje, 31 December 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has congratulated the New Year 2022 to all citizens, wishing them lost of success, joy and health. “Let me once again send my best wishes and thank you for the trust you have bestowed upon me. I believe that leadership should come from trust not power. I remain assured that together with you, the vast majority of the people, we left behind the darkest pages of our independence back in 2017 and opened the endless opportunities for our country and its citizens,” PM Zaev says in a Facebook post. Zaev believes that he and the citizens are members of a generation that is not only part of history but one that has written some of the most important pages of Macedonian present and future. “We have fought and been accepted as a country with a clear national identity because the Macedonian idea is in the heart of every Macedonian man and woman. We have become members of NATO, the strongest military-security alliance of democratic and progressive countries, and have an open invitation for European Union membership,” says Zaev. He thanks all ethnic communities for their friendship and brotherly understanding. “This support and understanding for the protected Macedonian identity is enormously significant in building a one society for all. The bridges we build today are the bloodstream of our mutual trust and our common future. In this spirit, let’s see the new future as a new chapter of our togetherness,” says Zaev. According to him, the pen to write new success is in the people’s hands. “No one will again ever write our own history or define the direction of our future. Only you, the citizens, can fill out the new chapters. I wish you success, health and joy in the new 2022,” says Zaev.
