Zaev: Culture and Information Center in Tirana to bring countries’ people closer
Skopje, 14 September 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev paid Tuesday a visit to the recently opened Culture and Information Center of North Macedonia in Tirana, saying it will contribute to the promotion of the tradition, culture and art of the country in Albania’s capital. “This center is another link in the broad specter of cooperation and strengthening of the friendship between Albania and North Macedonia. The center has opened thanks to Prime Minister Edi Rama and the commitment of the countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture, an idea in the works since 2017,” said PM Zaev. According to him, the center will be a bridge that brings countries’ people closer, a place to meet and initiate new ideas on mutual activities in the field of arts, a place to affirm the traditional participation of Albanian writers and poets at literary events in North Macedonia, and to promote Macedonian literature at the International Book Fair in Tirana. “In this centre, ethnic Macedonians in Albania get their corner where they are always welcome and in contact with cultural and other processes in North Macedonia. On this occasion, I would like to stress that we will do everything in our power to speed up the process of opening a culture and information center of Albania in Skopje,” noted Zaev. He added these initiatives represent the deep and sincere friendship between the two countries. “They demonstrate the European spirit fostered and affirmed by neighbors Albania and North Macedonia, countries respecting each other and practicing European values of good neighborliness. These values are a proof that the countries are part of the European family, a place where they belong, deserving of their spot in the common home – the European Union,” underlined PM Zaev.
