Zaev: Besa is still part of government, resignations yet to be verified
Skopje, 16 November 2021 (MIA) – The resignations of Besa members serving in the government are yet to be verified, which means they are still part of the government, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev says in a statement to Sloboden Pechat daily.
“Besa is still in the government because Parliament is yet to verify the resignation of Minister Arjanit Hoxha and that of the rest of Besa officials managing institution. It’s only logical to say that they are still part of the government,” says Zaev.
Kastriot Rexhepi, the Besa MP who was a no-show at last week’s session for no-confidence vote against the government, has also confirmed that Besa is still in the government.
“The Besa movement hasn’t left the government because there is no decision,” Rexhepi has said answering journalists’ questions explaining that Besa’s central board is the body is in charge of deciding whether the party will join or leave a coalition.
On November 12, Agriculture Minister Arjanit Hoxha and two deputy ministers from Besa announced they will step down as moral act in line with their party’s decisions.
