Xhaferi, Spasovski hold farewell meetings with Austrian Ambassador Woutsas

Skopje, 19 July 2023 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi and Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski held farewell meetings Wednesday with the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, Georg Woutsas.
According to Parliament, at his meeting with the Ambassador, Speaker Xhaferi highlighted the great relations between the two countries and voiced his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Ambassador, adding that he hopes this dynamic will continue with the next Austrian Ambassador to North Macedonia.
Ambassador Woutsas underscored Austria’s strategic interest in North Macedonia and the integration of the entire Western Balkans in the European Union. He voiced his conviction that his successor will continue the same policy of complete support for North Macedonia’s Euro-integration. The Ambassador also expressed interest in the process of the constitutional amendments.
Speaker Xhaferi confirmed that the initiative for the amendments has been delivered to Parliament, and voiced his conviction that, if the political will exists, the whole process will be able to end by November 2023.
At his meeting with the Austrian Ambassador, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski thanked him for his support and the cooperation between the Embassy and the Ministry of Interior, voicing conviction that it will continue to develop with the next Ambassador as well.
