Xhaferi - Osmani: North Macedonia supports Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic aspirations

Skopje, 15 April 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi met with the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu on the sidelines of the International Forum for Women, Peace, and Security (WPS Forum) in Prishtina on Monday.
Talks focused on the bilateral ties between North Macedonia and Kosovo, as well as possibilities possibilities to promote them in all areas of mutual interest, the Government said in a press release.
Interlocutors also discussed current challenges on a regional and multilateral level related to the security situation and economic progress of the region and beyond. Xhaferi and Osmani agreed that peaceful resolution of open issues in the Western Balkans should be an absolute imperative for all.
Caretaker PM Xhaferi reaffirmed that, in the spirit of good neighbourliness, North Macedonia supports Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, including its active participation in existing forums and regional initiatives.
Interlocutors also exchanged views on full integration of all Western Balkan countries in the EU, stressing that it means security, stability and overall progress for all citizens. Moreover, Xhaferi said that North Macedonia, as NATO member and EU candidate, is prepared to share with Kosovo all acquired knowledge and experience. He pointed out that North Macedonia is following the situation between Prishtina and Belgrade and supports dialogue, noting that constructiveness is needed from both sides and Kosovo and Serbia should fulfil the obligations established in Brussels and in Ohrid. ssh/nn/
