Skopje, 22 February 2024 (MIA) - The Ministry of Interior should provide accurate information to citizens, not create chaos in the people's perceptions, said caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi after Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski recently accused of 'sabotage' in the Ministry, while his deputy Mitko Bojmacaliev denied the claim.

PM Xhaferi told reporters that the obstacles and not the solution are always highlighted when discussing a problem, adding that he has tasked the Ministry of Interior to provide daily reports on received applications for documents and the number of issued documents.

According to him, the ministry is obligated as an institution to provide accurate information, regardless of the leadership's political affiliation.

"They should inform the public on a daily basis about the number of applications and the number of issued documents. I call on them to not release false information, which mostly serves those who feed on false information. If the idea is daily politics, then their approach is erroneous, because their task is to provide a service for the citizen, not quarrel among themselves about the information they provide," said Xhaferi and expected the first MoI report to be delivered today.
