Xhaferi addresses Turkish Language Day event
Skopje, 21 December 2021 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi congratulated on Tuesday the members of the Turkish community in North Macedonia on Turkish Language Day – December 21. Xhaferi addressing the event to mark Turkish Language Day, on his behalf and on behalf of the MPs, congratulated all members of the Turkish community on December 21 – Turkish Language Day, and voiced respect for the culture, identity and uniqueness of the Turkish community which is an integral part of the social fabric of North Macedonia honored with special emphasis on education, creation and nurturing of the Turkish language. “This is a holiday that is celebrated with special emphasis on education, creation and nurturing of the Turkish language which are the best food for the soul and mind of a people, because in a country where members of many different ethnic communities live, it is essential to enable creation, functioning and use of the mother tongue of each community, in order to establish relations of sincere respect, trust and loyalty to the state,” Xhaferi said addressing the event. He greeted the Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Mustafa Şentop and the members of his delegation, who are paying Tuesday a visit to the Republic of North Macedonia. Xhaferi noted that he is unreservedly committed to parliamentary diplomacy, to establishing parliamentary relations and cooperation where it does not exist, to deepening and improving already excellent relations between the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey. Today's joint celebration is another confirmation of the mutual desire to intensify cooperation and mutual visits at the highest state level, Xhaferi said, adding that they will result in positive and useful facilitation of political, economic and any other cooperation between our two countries. “The friendly ties are so strong, historical, traditional and warm, that they can serve as an example for all countries in the region,” said Xhaferi.
