'Worth It' to serve as accelerator for sooner start of EU negotiations: minister

Tetovo, 2 October 2024 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari, who is also leader of the Alliance for Albanians party, expressed hope Wednesday that European Union accession negotiations could begin in six months.

"The Worth It coalition insists on the start of the accession negotiations because Macedonia has no alternative to the EU. We set a six-month deadline and said Worth It would do everything to launch the talks. It is good that Albania started the process but it is bad that the countries have been decoupled. On the other hand, Bulgaria has no government and elections are about to take place there. I hope that a solution will be found and Worth It will serve as an accelerator for the sooner start of Macedonia's accession talks. As far as I know, the Prime Minister is also in favor of a sooner start, as is everyone in the Government," Minister Taravari told reporters in Tetovo.
