Worth It leaders meet Kosovo PM Kurti in Pristina

Debar, 19 May 2024 (MIA) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted Saturday leaders of the Worth It coalition Bilal Kasami, Arben Taravari, Izet Mexhiti and Afrim Gashi, congratulating them on the election result at the May 8 parliamentary elections, saying it is the first time an ethnic Albanian opposition garnered over 100,000 votes, daily Koha reports.

The meeting focused on issues of importance for Albanians in North Macedonia, but also inter-state relations and other developments.

Interlocutors find the Russian and Serbian influence quite concerning, considering ties with corruption and crime. Infrastructure development between Kosovo and North Macedonia was one of the main topics of discussion, along with ideas and projects for revival of economic, cultural and educational cooperation, reads the daily.

According to Kurti's office, the meeting was cordial, taking into account that "Albanians in the Balkans are a factor supporting democracy, European integration, Euro-Atlantic peace, security and stability".
