Skopje, 30 August 2025 (MIA) – A strong wind storm has swept Skopje this afternoon, leaving parts of the city without electricity. 

Also, according to the Crisis Management Center, two large wildfires have erupted on the outskirts of Skopje. One fire broke out at Skopska Crna Gora, between the villages of Creshevo ​​and Brnjarci, and one in the Municipality of Saraj, between the villages of Krushopek and Loka.

However, the CMC said aerial firefighters were waiting for the wind to diminish before setting off to extinguish them.

The severe wind storm has caused material damage. Roofs of buildings have been blown off in Chair, in Gjorche Petrov and along Partizanski Odredi Boulevard near the Okta gas station.

The wind also bowled trash cans and tore down trees.

The CMC said it was closely monitoring the situation, urging citizens to report any material damage from the wind storm by calling the emergency number 112. mr/
