Skopje, 31 August 2025 (MIA) — The severe wind storm that swept Skopje Saturday afternoon tore down trees and knocked down power lines, which left parts of the city without electricity. 

According to the Crisis Management Center, citizens reported material damage caused by trees fallen on their cars and houses. Several awnings and roofs of buildings were also blown off.

Some streets and building entrances were blocked by fallen trees or trash cans bowled by the wind. The storm also toppled some road signs and traffic lights, the CMC said.

The wind storm set off sparks and flames at several utility poles across Skopje. A number of power lines went down, which disrupted the electricity service. mr/
