Skopje, 16 October 2023 (MIA) - Western Balkans leaders signed an agreement on mutual recognition of professional qualifications of nurses, veterinary surgeons, obstetricians and pharmacists within the Berlin Process Summit in Tirana on Monday.
The agreements represent a continuation of the committments undertaken at the previous Berlin Process Summit, when countries signed similar documents for recognition of the professional qualifications of doctors, dentists and architests, the Government said in a press release.
The agreement stimulates mobility of professionals through harmonization of labor market needs and approximation to the EU law. It not only ensures the application of EU criteria in the aspect of common market mobility but countries are also obliged to align their curricula for these professions with the EU requirements, thus ensuring better quality and mobility of this staff across the Western Balkans.
Such agreements reaffirm the importance of the Berlin Process, which has continually contributed to the promotion of cooperation among governments in the region and initiated various forms of networking, reads the press release.
