Vucic: Three agreements to be signed at Skopje forum
Belgrade, 22 June 2021 (MIA) – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said after Thursday’s video-conference meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama that three agreements would be signed at the regional economic forum in Skopje on July 28-29, along with a change of the name of the “mini Schengen” initiative and “fast lanes” for citizens at border crossings, MIA reports from Belgrade. “I believe in the region’s economic progress. We worked on three documents that will be signed in Skopje, related to trade, work permits and mutual support in case of natural disasters, in the interest of our people,” said Vucic. According to him, the “mini Schengen” name would be changed “because it has nothing to do with Schengen.” “We will show that we can go even further. If there are six or eight lanes for EU nationals, then we can have separate lanes for people from the region, so that nationals of these three countries can see the benefit and move faster than the ones coming from the EU,” noted Vucic. He added that fast track procedures and 24/7 phytosanitary inspections would be set up where possible, “so that our businessmen can work faster and make more money”.
