Von der Leyen on tour of Western Balkans to visit Skopje on Thursday

Tirana, 19 October 2024 (MIA) -- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will pay a visit to the six countries of the Western Balkans next week, MIA's Tirana correspondent reports.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, President von der Leyen will visit Albania and meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama. She will also deliver a speech at the inauguration ceremony for the College of Europe campus in Tirana.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, she will meet with Albanian President Bajram Begaj, before travelling to Skopje to meet with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and with President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova. Later in the day, she will also visit the flood-affected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On Friday, Oct. 25, Von der Leyen will meet with Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina members and Council of Ministers chairwoman Borjana Krišto in Sarajevo and with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Miloš Vučević in Belgrade.
The EC President will end her Western Balkans tour on Saturday, Oct. 26, when she will meet with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Prishtina and with Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić in Podgorica. mr/
