Brussels, 2 April 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski is visiting Brussels from April 2 to 4, where he will take part in the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
On Wednesday, Mucunski is to speak at the “EU enlargement in the new era: North Macedonia’s perspective” event organised by the European Policy Centre (EPC). He will also brief Brussels think tank representatives on the current EU integration process.
According to the event organizers, Mucunski is scheduled to address the state of play and prospects of North Macedonia’s European integration path and “to clarify the country’s expectations from the EU in the enlargement dossier at this critical geopolitical moment.”
“North Macedonia has been seeking more predictability in this process. The country has fully aligned with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy and has submitted the reform agenda for the Growth Plan. However, its progress towards EU membership continues to be obstructed by member states’ instrumentalisation of the accession process,” as noted in the announcement for the event where Minister Mucunski will speak.
Mucunski will take part on April 3-4 in the NATO foreign ministers' meeting, where the main topics will include the situation in Ukraine, the increase in defence spending, and NATO's role in strengthening the defence industry.
