Skopje, 12 September 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski promoted Friday coalition "Your Macedonia" for the coming local elections, comprised of 25 political parties that represent "the diversity of the Macedonian society."

PM Mickoski said the local elections are important for the country's future because of the direct jurisdiction of local self-governments in the management of citizens' problems.

"We have shown that we can manage municipalities without any scandals and a lot of work. In addition, all municipalities will have the support from the national authorities in the next four years. Everyone should make the right choice for their own community and municipality, to elect the person who will defend the interests of citizens and solve problems. We will nominate people who are the voice of the people and will work for them. I am certain that the country's strength is not measured only by its national institutions but its daily lives in cities and villages, in the municipalities where citizens effectuate their rights and live their dreams," said Mickoski.

He expressed readiness to build a local self-government that will serve as a model of democratic governance, economic efficiency and cultural affirmation, adding that party leaders within the coalition have adopted a Declaration for Macedonia of citizens and municipalities creating the future.

"While believing that infrastructure is the foundation for the development of every community, we hereby pledge to invest in the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, water supply and sewage systems, schools, sports halls and culture centers. We will stimulate policies that create new jobs and economic security. We will strive to improve primary healthcare through modernization of first aid stations, better equipment of health centers and facilitated access to medical services," said Mickoski.

The PM added that rural areas will be in the focus, with education as the key aspect in building generations who promote the country through knowledge, value and responsibility.

"We will create an environment that will keep young people in their municipalities, building their future here, in their homeland Macedonia. We believe that environment is a legacy for future generations, we will fight for clean air, waste management, use of renewable energy sources and nature protection. We will embed green policies in every municipality, ensuring better health and quality of life of citizens. Through faith in our country and people, we reaffirm our commitment to build Macedonia as a prosperous, just and modern state. A country in which all citizens will feel respected and safe, where municipalities will be the generators of development, whereas communities live in harmony, dignity and hope. Our mission is for coming generations to inherit a stronger, richer and stable Macedonia," underlined Mickoski.
