VMRO-DPMNE upholds MP candidate lists

Skopje, 28 March 2023 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE at Thursday's sessions of the Executive and Central Committees upheld the lists of MP candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for May 8.

Hristijan Mickoski will be the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition list principal in the first election district, Vlado Misajlovski will head the list in the second election district, Dragan Kovachki in the third, Aleksandar Nikoloski in the fourth, Gjorgija Sajkoski in the fifth, and Dafina Stojanovska in the sixth.

VMRO-DPMNE Vice-President Timcho Mucunski told reporters at Thursday's press conference that the lists of MP candidates will not include representatives from the newly joined coalition partners.

He announced that VMRO-DPMNE will sign on Friday an agreement with coalition partners for the upcoming elections. He noted that there have been no talks about the Alliance for Albanians being part of their coalition.

Mucunski pointed out that these were winning lists of MP candidates, adding that the voice of the people, people's demands and needs were taken into account in compiling the lists.

"These are people with credibility. Experienced and energetic. People that Macedonia needs, people who will fight for solutions, fight to solve problems. We have a difficult task ahead of us - to lift Macedonia up and restore hope. The people demand and expect responsibility, they demand and expect principles and the return of values in politics. We will only make it together," said Mucunski.

Political parties and coalitions are to submit the MP candidate lists to the State Election Commission (SEC) by April 2. The elections are scheduled for May 8. The first round of the presidential elections will be held on April 24.
