US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien arrives in Skopje

Skopje, 21 January 2024 (MIA) - US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O'Brien, arrived in North Macedonia on Sunday for a leaders' meeting on the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans set to take place in Skopje. 

 

Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj welcomed Assistant Secretary O'Brien, extending gratitude for the US' support to North Macedonia, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release.  

 

O'Brien is part of a delegation of the country's strategic partners set to participate in a leaders' meeting on the European Commission's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia is hosting in Skopje on Sunday and Monday.  

 

 

"US support for North Macedonia always comes at the right time, for which we are extremely grateful," Deputy PM Marichikj said. 

 

Ahead of the leaders' meeting on the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, our country has the honor of connecting all the participants, the delegations of the countries in the region, and thus show our serious commitment to the Euro-Atlantic integration, development and prosperity of the country and the region, reads the press release.
