Skopje, 9 April 2024 (MIA) – A fire breaking out Tuesday at Skopje’s Universal Hall was contained and there’s no risk of the fire catching nearby buildings, Centar Municipality Mayor Goran Gerasimovski said after visiting the site upon receiving the news.

“Firefighters at the moment are putting it out and the fire was contained. There’s no risk of nearby buildings catching fire. According to initial information, no one was at the building at the time of the fire,” Gerasimovski said in a post on social media.

The mayor calls on the citizens to avoid going into that part of the city in downtown Skopje advising against speculation being spread until official information about the cause of the fire is released.
