Skopje, 17 August 2023 (MIA) — The Ukranian government has approved a resolution for the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with North Macedonia, adopted in October 2022, RBC-Ukraine said Thursday citing the country's Ministry for Economy.
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Taras Kachka, said that this resolution will facilitate full implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between North Macedonia and Ukraine, ratified in the spring.
The agreement will enable a change in the customs clearance mechanism for agricultural products and the import of goods from North Macedonia without an import license within tariff quotas.
The allocation of quotas under the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries will be managed by customs authorities on a 'first come-first served' basis.
"An important achievement for Ukraine in terms of the Agreement is North Macedonia's accession to the 'Pan-Euro-Med' convention, which establishes identical rules of origin of goods and a EUR.1 import certificate, confirming the status of preferential origin of goods," Kachka said.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Ukraine and North Macedonia agreed to a 'Visa-free transport' regime, which will abolish bilateral and transit transportation permits for vehicles of the Euro-3 standard and above. ssh/mr
