Kyiv, 20 March 2025 (dpa/MIA) — The Russian army launched a major drone attack on Ukraine on Wednesday evening, according to Kyiv.

The Ukrainian air force said the Russian combat drones entered the country from various directions. Air raid warnings sounded in the eastern half of the country.

According to the administration of the Kharkiv region, Russian aircraft dropped around 20 gliding bombs over the front-line city of Kupiansk in the east. One man was killed. Infrastructure objects such as civilian buildings were hit.

The attacks occurred despite attempts by US President Donald Trump to persuade both sides to agree to a limited ceasefire.
