Ukraine Independence Day observed in Skopje

Skopje, 24 August 2024 (MIA) - Embassy of the Republic of Ukraine marked the country's Independence Day in Skopje on Saturday.

A procession carrying a large Ukrainian flag walked pass the Taras Shevchenko statue to the Ukrainian Alley in downtown Skopje, followed by an address of Chargé d'affaires Dmytro Kerechanin.

"Today we observe the most important holiday of Ukraine and Ukrainians - Independence Day. Thanks to all of you, we are not alone and we are celebrating this day together with our friends. Our country is not left alone but supported by many countries, including North Macedonia, in the fight against the Russian aggressor. We extend our gratitude to all partners of Ukraine for the help that ensures our survival in this difficult time," said Kerechanin.

He said Independence Day should be a day filled with pride, unity and patriotism.

"I wish for a sooner victory over the enemy, a just peace in Ukraine and wellbeing for every Ukrainian family," underlined Kerechanin.
