Skopje, 19 March 2025 (MIA) - Today at noon, a medical evacuation flight by Karolinska Hospital took off from Skopje, carrying two patients to Stockholm for medical treatment at Karolinska University Hospital, the Embassy of Sweden said on Wednesday.

"Continuous treatment and care is provided during the transfer of the patients from Skopje to Karolinska Hospital. North Macedonia requested assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and Sweden, along many EU member states, has responded by matching needs and capacities. Sweden stands in solidarity with North Macedonia after the tragic fire this weekend. Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted," the Embassy wrote in a Facebook post.
