Tupancheski-Holstein: Digitalization of judiciary remains key priority
Skopje, 9 February 2022 (MIA) – Digitalization of the judiciary remains key priority and public prosecutors’ offices are an important segment in the judicial system and functioning of the system for electronic allocation of court cases to prosecutors’ offices will ensure efficiency in combating corruption, Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski said Wednesday during the meeting with the German Ambassador to North Macedonia Anke Holstein. The meeting was focused on presentation of the results and future steps of the Ministry of Justice aimed at improving the Macedonian judicial system. Tupancheski said that this year the implementation of the 2017-2022 Strategy for Reform of the Judicial Sector is being finalized, and the preparation of the new Strategy for the period 2023-2027 will begin, which will be a continuation of the reform process, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release. Tupancheski and Holstein reaffirmed the successful bilateral cooperation so far, which is especially complemented by the support of German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) over the past years and implemented projects, a significant part of which are in the justice sector. Ambassador Holstein reaffirmed her support for the continuation of the cooperation that the two countries have already achieved and expressed readiness for Germany to make an even greater contribution to the implementation of reforms through the exchange of experiences, especially in the international case law of the criminal sphere. They agreed to intensify cooperation aimed at achieving common goals.
