Tupancheski says new Criminal Code to be adopted by year-end
Skopje, 17 February 2022 (MIA) – I believe that the first draft of the new Criminal Code will be ready before the summer break, followed by a broad debate and its adoption by the end of the year, says Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski. Minister Tupancheski told Telma TV the current Criminal Code has underwent 37 changes and the objective is to avoid this with the new code, which is being prepared by working groups in the ministry supported by foreign experts. Tupancheski says there is a need to detect and swiftly remove anomalies in the judiciary. “We should not say that judiciary is to blame. We should give the problem a name and surname, identify and personalize the situations and persons contributing to the negative perception,” says Tupancheski.
