Tsipras and Zaev in phone call, underscore importance of implementing Prespa Agreement

Athens, 13 May 2024 (MIA) - Former prime ministers of Greece and North Macedonia, Alexis Tsipras and Zoran Zaev respectively, highlighted the importance of consistent implementation of the Prespa Agreement and bilateral cooperation, both for North Macedonia's European prospects and peace and stability in the Western Balkans, amid a period of heightened tensions in the region, MIA reports from Athens.

Tsipras and Zaev reffered to political developments in North Macedonia, while noting "the hypocrisy and threat of nationalistic populism on both sides of the border".

They agreed on undertaking joint initiatives to support and implement the Prespa Agreement in the coming period, enhancing relations among people in both countries, and peace and stability in the broader region.
