Trial in ‘Vodno Lots’ case resumes with witness testimony
Skopje, 2 December 2021 (MIA) – The trial in the ‘Vodno Lots’ case resumed on Thursday at the Skopje-based Criminal Court with the testimony of the witness Menka Makarevska, put forward by the prosecution. Makarevksa, a lawyer, explained the registration process of the company “Sirah Engineering”, which according to the prosecution purchased the Vodno lots. “The company was founded 2012. It was supposed to be established using foreign capital and work in construction,” said the witness. Former Transport Minister Mile Janakievski is also set to take the witness stand at Thursday’s hearing. Ilija Trpkov is the presiding judge in the ‘Vodno lots’ case, while the prosecution is represented by Lile Stefanova. Ex-PM Nikola Gruevski is charged in the case with “money laundering and illegal purchase of building lots”, while Risto Novachevski, Nenad Josifovikj, Jordan (Orce) Kamchev and Ratka Kunovska Kamcheva are charged with “money laundering”. Former head of the secret police Sasho Mijalkov is also charged in the case.
