Trenchevska: UNICEF affirms strong support for Labor Ministry’s activities
- Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska met Thursday with the UNICEF Representative to North Macedonia, Patrizia DiGiovanni, and representatives from the UNICEF Office in Skopje. The discussion at the meeting focused on child protection, as well as topics related to the European Child Guarantee, the strategy on parenting as an important document that contributes to the development of children, and the Ministry’s new campaign, “Walk and Talk”, promoting youth mental health in cooperation with UNICEF.

Skopje, 31 August 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska met Thursday with the UNICEF Representative to North Macedonia, Patrizia DiGiovanni, and representatives from the UNICEF Office in Skopje. The discussion at the meeting focused on child protection, as well as topics related to the European Child Guarantee, the strategy on parenting as an important document that contributes to the development of children, and the Ministry’s new campaign, “Walk and Talk”, promoting youth mental health in cooperation with UNICEF.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, at the meeting Trenchevska highlighted the importance of the European Child Guarantee as a mechanism of the European Union which aims to prevent and combat social exclusion of children.
Trenchevska and DiGiovanni also spoke about the new activities set to begin in October in 16 cities in the country, aimed at raising awareness about mental health among the youth.
According to the press release, UNICEF Representative DiGiovanni voiced strong support for Minister Trenchevska in all fields that the Ministry is in charge of.
