Trenchevska affirms ongoing commitment to children, strengthening partnership with UNICEF

Skopje, 16 January 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska met Tuesday with the UNICEF Representative to the Republic of North Macedonia, Patrizia DiGiovanni, and discussed the future priorities for cooperation between the Ministry and UNICEF.
“Trenchevska and DiGiovanni underscored out that the Child Guarantee will be a priority in the near future, as this program is expected to achieve significant success and improve the quality of life for children in the country. They also discussed investing in strengthening the capacities of personnel in kindergartens, particularly in ensuring proper nutrition for children,” the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy said in a press release.
Minister Trenchevska, during the meeting, pointed out that currently, personnel responsible for planning the nutrition of children in kindergartens have been strengthened. She emphasized that UNICEF's support in this area will indeed contribute to achieving the common goal.
The discussions also included the "Walk and Talk" initiative, which was wrapped up as a positive activity involving more than 500 young individuals. Trenchevska underscored that her next steps will focus on promoting the importance of mental health among young people. She stressed that guiding young individuals towards improved well-being is particularly crucial for her, as it contributes to a better quality of life.
