Skopje, 29 July 2025 (MIA) - The Ministry of Transport has canceled the tender for selection of a bidder for procurement of 120 electric eco-friendly buses for public transport and charging stations, after a competent commission has established that the only company that applied did not meet the requirements of the public call.

According to the Transport Ministry, additional analyses will be conducted in the coming period regarding the procurement of electric eco-friendly buses.  

"Only one company submitted a bid in the public call launched on June 17 with a deadline for submission of bids set for July 24, 2025. After an evaluation, the Commission responsible for implementing the public procurement established that the company does not meet the criteria of the public call. The Ministry of Transport will conduct additional analyses in the coming period regarding the procurement of electric eco-friendly buses and will inform the public," the Ministry said in a press release. 

Of the 120 e-buses, 80 were to be made available for the Skopje public transportation and the remaining 40 were to be distributed in accordance with the real needs of local self-government units.
