Toxicology Clinic premises flooded by burst radiator, damage to be determined

Skopje, 26 April 2024 (MIA) — Almost all hospital rooms on the first floor and the doctor's offices on the second floor of the Toxicology Clinic as well as hallways on the ground floor, the waiting room next to the ENT clinic, and parts of the basement were flooded last night, Toxicology Clinic medical director Danil Petrovski said on Friday, adding that the damage was yet to be assessed.

Petrovski said the flooding happened at 1 am. "A radiator burst in a doctor's office on the second floor," he said.

He said the team on duty had immediately called for help but the maintenance crew could not find the leak and stop the water pouring out for the next forty minutes.

Eventually someone cut the water supply from the radiator by turning the valves off.

Toxicology Clinic staff said the premises were flooded for more than two hours. The clinic is not insured, they added.

The Ministry of Health confirmed to MIA that a central heating radiator had burst last night and that the problem had been repaired.

"There is no damage, everything is back to normal," the Ministry of Health told MIA. mr/
