Skopje, 31 May 2024 (MIA) - Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski officially handed over the post of Interior Minister to Nazim Bushi, the previous Deputy Minister, on Friday.
“In line with the legal provisions of the Republic of North Macedonia, Nazim Bushi will head the Interior Ministry until the beginning of the functioning of the new government composition, i.e., until the appointment of a new Interior Minister,” the Ministry said in a press release.
In a Facebook post, outgoing Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski wrote that following the publishing of the final results of the 2024 parliamentary elections by the State Election Commission on Thursday, his term as Interior Minister in the caretaker Government has officially ended, and in line with the Law on Government, he is to be succeeded by his Deputy Minister, Nazim Bushi.
“On this occasion, I would like to state that the past period was filled with many challenges, but together with my team we showed that with hard work, professionalism and honesty a lot can be achieved for our country. We managed to ensure stability and trust in the electoral process, in other words, I can freely say that we held the most democratic elections so far, which in fact was our main task,” Toshkovski wrote.
Toshkovski added that he hopes the new Government is formed as soon as possible, so that the state institutions can function at full capacity.
“Urgent and thorough reforms are necessary for Macedonia to stabilize and continue its growth and development. I believe that through joint efforts we can create a better future for all of us,” he wrote.
