Skopje, 14 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski and Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski alongside the head of the Crisis Management Center (CMC) Stojance Angelov visited on Sunday the Negotino region which has been affected by wildfires, the Government said in a press release.  

"On the ground with joint forces of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, CMC, with support of local self-governments, an operation to deal with the fires is underway. Firefighting helicopters are also engaged. The situation is currently under control and the operation to extinguish the fires is ongoing," reads the press release. 

The Government declared a state of crisis due to the outbreak of numerous major wildfires throughout the Republic of North Macedonia.  

The Government is urging citizens for caution while in forests and outdoor areas affected by fires amid the heatwave.
