Top officials congratulate Kurban Bayram

Skopje, 6 June 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has extended greetings on occasion of Muslim holiday Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha, Feast of Sacrifice) to all Islamic followers, wishing them good health, joy and love.

"As a holiday of giving and helping, Kurban Bayram highlights the man's nobility, motivating us to take care of all members of the community. As a society, we have always been known for our solidarity, unity, respect and care, values that we have to continue to cherish," says President Siljanovska Davkova in the note.

We are living in complex and dynamic times, she adds, with tectonic global political and economic shifts, which require wisdom, togetherness, strong will and perseverance, and therefore we should rely on one another, develop empathy and solidarity, and work for the well-being of all fellow citizens and the country's prosperity.

Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi says in the congratulating note that Kurban Bayram is a reminder of the importance of faith, kindness and care for the loved ones.

The Speaker says that coexistence, tolerance and humanity in the country can strengthen through joint commitment.

"The Parliament remains a staunch partner in the enhancement of the freedom of expression and building a society that provides equal opportunities for all. Let Kurban Bayram bring you joy, well-being and blessing in every family," says Gashi.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski says in his greeting that Kurban Bayram is a reminder of the true values and principles in life, namely doing good deeds, helping one another and show humanity.

The PM says a country where diversity is respected is one of happy citizens, whereas "our commitment is to build the state through mutual understanding, respect, trust and tolerance, but only by being united".

"The Government has managed to transform the country in a short period, realizing projects that benefit all citizens, regardless of their ethnic or religious background. Nevertheless, we need to make big steps in order to meet the joint objectives, and that is why the struggle for a better future, hope and better life should be our models for a successful and victorious Macedonia," reads the note.
