Three police officers injured, five arrests recorded during Wednesday's protest
Skopje, 7 July 2022 (MIA) - Three police officers were injured and five people were arrested during yesterday's protest in Skopje against the French proposal.
Two police officers were injured during an incident near the Skenderbeg monument in downtown Skopje, where police prevented an incident from escalating, the Interior Ministry said Thursday adding police officers arrested E.J., 40, on suspicion of firing a gun in the air. He is yet to be charged.
Also, three men were arrested after throwing objects at police officers, said the Ministry.
A police officer has been hospitalized after sustaining injuries while guarding the Parliament when hard objects were thrown at him.
Another person was also arrested in downtown Skopje for shooting with a drone without permission.
The Ministry said that during the protest it was registered that several protesters had tried to remove a group of masked men who were trying to incite incidents.
Police also arrested a man, 18, who threw a Molotov cocktails at the Parliament's building during Tuesday's protest against the French proposal.
