Three forensic experts to joint autopsy team in Bulgaria: minister
Skopje, 23 November 2021 (MIA) – Three doctors from the Skopje Institute for Forensic Medicine are expected tomorrow to join a team of experts in Sofia who will perform autopsy and identify the bodies of the victims of Tuesday’s bus accident in Bulgaria.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday evening, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said that three doctors from North Macedonia are already in Sofia to help the Bulgarian doctors perform the autopsies as soon as possible.
After the health minister was notified by his Bulgarian counterpart, an official notification was sent by North Macedonia via Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry to the public prosecution office in Sofia regarding the doctors’ engagement in the autopsies, meaning the three forensic experts will join their Bulgarian colleagues.
“The request has been finally sent to the Prosecution Office. I expect tomorrow the prosecutors to approve their engagement in the process of identification of the casualties,” Osmani told a news conference alongside ministers Oliver Spasovski and Blagoj Bochvarski.
