Skopje, 25 October 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Justice Nikola Tupancheski said Tuesday that there are instruments and mechanisms for proving and revealing the state of illegally acquired property. He said he expects the first draft of the Origin of Property Law to be completed in the near future. “I expect that pretty soon we, as the Ministry of Justice, will not only be familiar with, but also contribute to the swift adoption of the law. I will continue to responsibly assert that apart from that law, currently there are other instruments and mechanisms for proving and revealing the state of illegally acquired property,” said Tupancheski. He stated that cases are tied to deadlines and that the deadlines must be respected. “If it is determined that the cases are past the statute of limitations and no action was taken, there are various forms of responsibility. So, we need to put an end to the era in which, out of subjective reasons, the cases are basically left untouched. I believe that this period is promising and we will reach what we call a European value, i.e., efficient and effective judiciary and prosecution,” said Tupancheski. ad/nn/
