Tender documentation for construction of second phase of Skopje-Blace motorway being prepared
Skopje, 5 October 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski said Wednesday that the tender documentation for construction of second phase of Skopje-Blace motorway is to be prepared, expressing confidence that road construction are to continue next year if the tender process is successful. Construction is underway on the first part of the motorway, and a contractor has been selected for upgrade of the existing road between Skopje and Blace. “In regard to Blace motorway, I have already stated that the first section is already being constructed and for the second section the first procedures are already being completed and we expect the tender procedure to be announced in the next period. The amount of the project value is over EUR 190 million. It is a serious investment on a very difficult terrain and I expect that during the next year, if the process for selecting a contractor is successful, we will already have activities on the second section as well. We will also expect the completion of the first section, with which those over 12 kilometers to the Skopje ring road will enter a complete reorganization of the terrain,” Bochvarski said. “A contractor has been selected for upgrade of the existing road between Skopje and Blace,” Bochvarski told reporters during his visit to Probishtip. The goal of the construction activities, as he pointed out, is improving road infrastructure as it is crucial for people's livelihoods. “We are also works are underway on the road section of the Corridor X-D from Gradsko to Drenovo - Farish, Farishka Klisura, Pletvar and all other roads,” Bochvarski said, adding that procedures for expropriation of property for the second section of Shtip-Kochani expressway have been completed, and voiced confidence that construction works will be completed by December.
