Telekom Srbija joins Macedonian telecommunication market
Skopje, 16 November 2021 (MIA) – Mtel, a member of Telekom Srbija Group, is launching operations in the Macedonian telecommunications market as of Tuesday by opening a store in Skopje, where it also offers satellite TV. The company also aims at offering telecommunication services and digital services starting next year, its management has said.
Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić has announced novelties in the telecommunications market in the country.
“The first service we’re launching, satellite TV, will be followed by expansion in mobile telephony as of next year,” Lučić told a news conference.
The company provides services to more than 11 million subscribers in the region and Europe.
“Macedonia has advanced a lot in terms of telecommunications. We consider the opening of Telekom Srbija’s store a challenge to invest experience and knowledge acquired through our business activities in Serbia, BiH and Montenegro,” he said.
Mtel CEO Marko Lopičić said the company is offering the best selection of TV channels and exclusive contents.
“The offer has been carefully selected and is classified in three affordable packages containing over 150 channels. We’re confident that the offer of the best Arena Sport channels, the best Super Star channels of films and TV shows, all Macedonian national television programs, Pink channels as well as the best selection of documentary, music and children’s program channels will become the favorite television selection of the citizens in Macedonia,” said Lopičić.
Mtel registered a company in the country in July 2021. In the coming period, the company is expected to announce their plans to enter the mobile telephony market, which now is comprised of A1 Makedonija Skopje (49.78%), Makedonski Telekom (47.25%), Lycamobile (1.76%), Robi – Shtip (1.19%) and Green Mobile – Prilep (0.02%).
