Skopje, 20 December 2023 (MIA) - The Supreme Court has rejected as unfounded the request for reconsideration of the Criminal Court judgement in case dubbed "Vodno Plots", submitted by former prime minister Nikola Gruevski.

Back in April 2022, Gruevski was sentenced to seven years in prison for money laundering and unlawful acquisition and concealment of property in the ‘Vodno Lots” case.

A year later, the Appellate Court increased the prison sentence to nine years.

Gruevski escaped to Hungary in 2018 and was later granted asylum in the country. Macedonian authorities have sought his extradition upon an international arrest warrant since.
