Struga, 28 August 2021 (MIA) – The poetic portrait of Golden Wreath winner Carol Ann Duffy was presented on Friday evening at the Brothers Miladinov Culture Center in Struga, as part of the 60th Struga Poetry Evenings international festival.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 festival laureate, British poet Carol Ann Duffy, is not attending the festival, but she addressed the audience via videolink. A poetic reading of her works was also held online.
SPE Board of Directors President Elizabeta Sheleva presented Duffy’s works, stressing that she gained global recognition when her first book was published.
Happy to be one of the recipients of the Golden Wreath award, Duffy underlined that her love for poetry was born during her childhood, when her mother read books from the local library to her.

The festival’s Friday programme resumed with readings within the events Versopolis Night and Nights without Punctuation.
