State Prosecutor Joveski meets Eurojust representatives
Skopje, 26 October 2022 (MIA) – State Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski met Wednesday with a delegation of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), led by Vice-President Margarita Šniutytė-Daugėlienė. The Eurojust delegation presented the latest EU project implemented by the agency, supporting countries of the Western Balkans in investigating organized crime. The four-year project was launched in September, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release. The project includes direct support in proceeding upon specific cases that involve cross-border cooperation among regional states by setting up joint investigative teams or through parallel investigations in different countries. Prosecutor Joveski expressed readiness over the Prosecutor’s Office active involvement in the project, while highlighting the preparedness for future cooperation with Eurojust and other regional countries. “We have already signed cooperation memoranda with most of the countries in the area but also beyond, whereas the project will further facilitate the exchange of information and speed up procedures,” noted Joveski.
