State and church delegation in Jerusalem attends Church of the Holy Sepulchre service
Skopje, 15 April 2023 (MIA) — With the blessing of Macedonian Orthodox Church head Archbishop Stefan, a state and church delegation attended the Epitaph Service at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, Israel, on Friday evening.
The ceremony was led by Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos. It included the chanting of the three parts of the Lamentations and the Epitaph Sermon, according to the Tetovo and Gostivar Diocese website.
The delegation is led by Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and includes Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska, State Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Groups director Darijan Sotirovski, and Macedonian Orthodox Church Metropolitan of Tetovo and Gostivar Josif Todorovski.
According to a government press release, they will also attend the Church of the Holy Sepulchre's Service of the Holy Light on Saturday.
The delegation will ceremonially pass along the Holy Light at Skopje's International Airport on Sunday at 8 pm. The ceremony will be televised live on MRTV. mr/
