Stakeholders to evaluate implementation of Prespa Agreement when Dendias visits Skopje
Skopje, 26 August 2021 (MIA) – Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will pay a visit to North Macedonia at the end of the month, during which stakeholders will evaluate the implementation of the Prespa Agreement and discuss Greece’s support for North Macedonia’s EU integration, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said on Thursday.
He underlined the importance of the visit.
“It says a lot about the high level of communication, which is a reflection of good bilateral relations, based on more than just implementation of the Prespa Agreement. The agreement ensured the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries, which we have continued to improve both from political and economic aspect,” Osmani told reporters during a joint press conference with Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski.
He underlined that the Foreign Ministry has set up a working group in charge of monitoring the implementation of the Prespa Agreement.
“It monitors the implementation of article 8, which focuses on changing names, signs, etc., but also the work of the commission in charge of trademark protection, as well as sectoral cooperation, which is also envisioned by the Prespa Agreement,” Osmani noted.
During the meeting with Dendias, he added, stakeholders will evaluate the implementation of the agreement.
“We plan to approach all issues more systematically and assess the level of realization. We’ll also discuss other issues, such as support for our EU integration and sectoral cooperation in the context of our strategic partnership,” the Minister stressed.
