Skopje, 11 June 2023 (MIA) - Darko Dimovski, president of the Federation of Trade Unions (SSM) has died at the age of 45.

Colleagues, associates and workers will remember him as a great fighter for workers' rights, leaving a big mark in the union movement of Macedonia, SSM said in a press release on Sunday.

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski has extended condolences over Dimovski's death, saying his commitment in the fight for workers' rights was exceptional and served as an example.

"It is with great sadness that I receive the news of Dimovski's premature death and extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. His openness, pragmatism and readiness for dialogue resulted in a historic breakthrough that will ensure a better quality of life for all workers in the country," PM Kovachevski wrote in a Facebook post.
