Skopje, 26 April 2024 (MIA) – Elementary and high school students will be on a spring break, introduced for the first time this academic year, from April 29 until May 6.

The 2023/2024 school year will end on June 17 for the elementary school students, also for the first time, while high school students will be on a summer break starting from June 10.

Schools will be closed on May 8 (Wednesday), which is election day for the second round of the presidential elections and the parliamentary elections.

A day earlier, on May 7, schools where polling stations will be opened are planned to finish with classes by 11 am.

To make up for the classes cancelled on April 24 and May 8 due to the elections, students will have to stay longer in schools to attendclasses, according to the Education Ministry.

Schools in Skopje will also have to make up the classes missed on Nov. 30, 2023, when the capital hosted the OSCE Council of Ministers meeting.
