Special Forces Battalion to mark 30th anniversary 

Skopje, 1 March 2024 (MIA) - A military ceremony will be held on Friday at the Ilinden barracks in Skopje to mark army special unit day and 30 years since the establishment of the Special Forces Battalion.

The Special Forces Battalion celebrates March 1, as a date when the first army special unit, nicknamed “The Wolves”, was first formed in 1994.

In addition to Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska and Army Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski the event will also be attended by army generals, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and Army General Staff, veterans, army commanders, and other esteemed guests.

The event, according to the program, will be addressed by the minister of defense, army chief of general staff, the first commander of the unit, veteran General Miroslav Stojanovski, battalion commander Colonel Stefan Ivanovski, followed by the announcement of incentive measures for unit members and presentation of some of the new equipment for Army members. ssh/sk/
